Edward Corrigan
Founding Partner – Business advisory and assurance

Before establishing this firm, I was a partner at Baker Tilly, with responsibility for business services in the South West. I’d previously trained with Grant Thornton and spent two years working in industry as a financial controller.

However, in setting up Corrigan Associates, I had other plans: I wanted to work with sectors that interested and excited me, like fast-growing technology firms and not-for-profit outfits. I wanted to help these businesses and organisations forge their own paths to growth through making good decisions, minimising risk, and building smart and motivated management teams. I wanted to help increase the prosperity of Bristol and the South West – the region in which we’re based – while putting something back into the community. I’ve long been a trustee of various charitable bodies, mostly in housing and care services.

Outside of the office, I have three grown-up daughters and enjoy a range of outdoor activities. I enjoy cycling and an occasional round of golf and taking on the odd physical challenge.

Richard Bunker
Partner – Private client and growing business tax

I joined Corrigan Associates in early 2016 from Bristol firm Whyatt Pakeman. Before that I was a partner with a major national practice. I’ve been advising businesses and individuals on tax matters for over 30 years, helping clients both meet their compliance obligations and reduce their tax bills.

My work has included capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning for individuals, as well as partnership taxation, share valuations and pension planning, profit extraction, succession and exit planning, company mergers and demergers.

Away from the office, I love sport, and I’m still playing football regularly and improving at golf. I’m pleased to see my interests in good coffee, cycling, craft ale and vinyl have finally become fashionable.

Pete Edwards
Partner – Corporate tax, share incentives and R&D

I trained at an independent firm before moving to Baker Tilly as a tax specialist. I’m now one of the two principal tax advisors here at Corrigan Associates, and work closely with all our business and private clients.

Through working with high-tech, entrepreneurial companies over the years, I’ve gained in-depth knowledge of Research and Development (R&D) tax credits and employee share option schemes.

Before all of this, I attended Bristol Grammar School, and played football for Bristol City F.C. as a schoolboy. I still play five-a-side now, and am a season ticket holder at Bristol City.

Stuart Crisp

Stuart Crisp
Partner – Audit and assurance

I trained with a small general practice in Bristol before spending 12 years in the assurance departments of mid-sized international firms. I joined Corrigan Associates in 2017.

My role at Corrigans combines responsibility for the firm’s audit and assurance work with a broader advisory role on a range of financial reporting and business matters. I’ve always enjoyed the variety that my work brings, and my experience includes working with owner-managed businesses, large corporates, and listed businesses, as well as schools, charities and other not-for-profit organisations. I’ve also spent time on secondment with two clients; the first spell was as the Financial Accountant within a charitable trust; and the second role was as an Interim Financial Controller for the newly acquired subsidiary of an international group.

I enjoy running and early on a Saturday morning can usually be found completing a lap or two of the Downs. Later in the weekend I undo the good work by pursuing my other main hobby: eating out.

Hayley Stead
Accounts Manager

I trained and worked with Baker Tilly’s Hereford office as a qualified chartered certified accountant, before moving to Bristol to join Corrigan Associates in 2012.

I have a background as an audit specialist, with experience in professional practice and the schools and not-for-profit sectors. I’m now managing the accounts team here at Corrigan Associates.

Outside of work, I’m a keen traveller and once spent nine months touring Central and South America. I look forward to returning someday, but in the meantime I try and visit as many new places as possible.

Rich Harding
Business Support Services Director

I worked for an international practice for over 10 years before joining Corrigan Associates in 2016. I have a background in providing both compliance and advisory services to a wide range of companies, specifically within the professional practice, not for profit and technology sectors.

I have carried out a number of seconded senior financial roles for clients, so I understand the critical importance of timely and reliable management information. This experience guides me in my current role where I oversee the outsourced support functions for clients including bookkeeping, management accounting, VAT, payroll and company secretarial. I am a Xero specialist as well as having great knowledge of Sage and other leading accounting packages. I am also responsible for our business forecasting and financial modelling services.

Any free time I used to have is now being fully used up by my wonderful baby daughter.

Annabelle Jillett
Corporate Services Manager

I joined the firm in 2016 and am responsible for the accounting services for a portfolio of predominantly corporate clients. My role is to ensure we deliver their accounts on time and within budget, and to train and supervise more junior members of the team.

I really enjoy the interaction with clients and helping them to streamline the process wherever possible.

Away from the office I enjoy walking, cycling and gardening. At weekends you’ll often find me on my allotment.

Jon Turner
Tax Manager

I graduated with a first-class degree in economics from the University of West England. I spent my university placement year working in the finance team at Hargreaves Lansdown in Bristol.

I joined Corrigan Associates as a graduate in 2012, and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2015. I have worked on some of our larger audit assignments, and am now taking a lead role in managing a broad range of business clients.

In my spare time, I play guitar and enjoy a range of outdoor activities – including walking, cycling and rock climbing.

Ben Fotheringham
Audit Manager

After I worked as a retail buyer in the marine industry, I trained and qualified with Corrigan Associates. During my training I spent some time in our tax and accounts preparation teams, developing a broad range of technical skills before focussing on our portfolio of audit clients.

I now manage the audit and assurance work undertaken by Corrigan Associates, working with both commercial and not-for-profit clients. I enjoy getting to know and understand clients and their businesses, finding it satisfying to spot and solve problems to help them grow.

Outside of the office, I enjoy swimming and badminton and have a real love for the cinema.

Gillian Watkins
Executive Assistant

I joined Corrigan Associates in 2016, and am the executive assistant to the partners. I have previously worked within recruitment businesses, and this is my first venture into the world of accounting.

I manage day-to-day activities in the office, including organising meetings with clients, and ensure everything runs smoothly here.
